Food & medical supplies to Guatemala

Local Lavington residents, Denis & Eileen Nogue would like to thank everyone who has made a donation, we have raised over $12,000.00. towards the shipping of a 40 foot container with over 1 million servings of donated Gleaners food and medical supplies to Guatemala. The Nogue's will be working with Mision Hispana reachingtheamericas.com  and will be implementing a much needed feeding program at a public school as well as feeding the most vulnerable and poor. If you would still like to make a financial contribution, 100% of the proceeds will be used towards the project.  Tax receiptable donations can be made to Lavington Fellowship Baptist Church, (marked Container Project)  9681 School Rd., Coldstream, B.C. V1B 3G4.

Lavington Community School Gym programs

All activities are held in the gym portion of our Community School on School Road ... please leave your "outside" shoes in the foyer and change into your game shoes.  

Lavington Adult Co-ed Volleyball - Tues and Friday evenings 7- 9:30 pm
Join us for an evening of fun - Tues nights are geared for beginner, intermediate players with the goal of gaining skills of the game.  Friday nights are a tad more competitive with emphasis on bump, set, spike - come check us out and decide which night is right for you!

Adult Co-ed Fitness/Walking - Mon and Thurs evenings 7 - 8:15 pm
Adult Co-ed Badminton - Mon and Thurs evenings 8:15 - 9:30 pm
This is a new activity and we look forward to seeing you there.  

Adult Co-ed Pickleball - Wednesday 5 - 7 pm
This activity is locally supported with players bringing in their own nets/supports - a huge thank you for your part in trying to establish a local interest -  if this is an activity you think you might be interested in, please drop in and ask questions, observe or try it out.

Lavington Fellowship Baptist Church programs

Nov. 4th.  Jr. High Youth Group (grades 6-8).  Angry Birds!  Come angry, leave happy.  No Pigs allowed!

Nov. 18-20th.  Jr. High retreat at Sunnybrae Bible Camp!  Grades 6-8.  Cost $90 for the weekend.  Register with Pastor Russ.

Dec. 2nd.  Reindeer Games!  Come play some wacky Christmas games at the church!  6:30 - 8:30pm for jr. high!

Wednesday nights.  Starting Block Bible Study at the church for grades 7 & up.  6:30 - 8:00pm every Wednesday night!  Come grow deeper in your faith in God, make long lasting friendships, eat some good food, and help plan some wacky  youth events!

The Church is starting a Parent and Child drop in program on Monday mornings.  It will run from 9-11.  Coffee, tea, and snacks are provided.  This is a great community program and is open to all parents and children under 5.  It is free to all participants.  If you have any questions you can contact Mariea.

The Lavington Fire Department

would like to humbly thank the community for their participation in their 1st annual First Responders food drive which resulted in a 1200 lb donation for the Lumby Food Bank.


We would also like to thank everyone who purchased pumpkins and/or made donations at local supporting businesses for our annual Halloween fireworks show. Thank you as well to Buy Low Foods and Butcher Boys for their contributions towards the concession and to all the past and present firefighters who volunteered their time and enthusiasm for this event.

Halloween Fireworks

The Lavington Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual Halloween Fireworks Display for the community on Monday October 31. The Firemen will have a concession at the fire hall starting at approximately 6:30. The display of fireworks will begin around 8:00. Please help support this event with your donations to the Fire Department's Halloween fireworks fund. You can deposit your donations in the FIREMEN BOOTS at Lavington Market Petro-can, Lavington Superette AFD, and Annette's Blue Nose Deli.

Are you a senior 60+

who lives independently at home but needs some modest help with a few tasks? The North Okanagan Better at Home Program offers transportation, grocery shopping, light housekeeping, minor home repair and light yard work. An exciting new service offering friendly visiting has recently been introduced. Volunteer positions are also available!

Cost is based on what is affordable for the senior.  The program is funded by the Government of BC and managed by the United Way of the Lower Mainland.

Brenda Smart (nee Williams)

Born: August 19, 1951
Died: July 26, 2016

The community of Lavington would like to acknowledge the contributions of this very gifted woman.  Brenda was one of the original members of the revitalized L.C.A. in the early 90's.  She worked tirelessly as our Secretary for many years and was instrumental in creating our Constitution. 

Thank you Brenda ... gone but not forgotten.

Lavington Co-ed Walking & Fitness - starting first Monday & Thursday in October from 7 - 8:15 pm.  Focus is on moving and having fun. 

Lavington Adult Pickleball - watch for details regarding instruction and introduction to the game - coming in October. Time slot for this activity will be Wednesdays from 5 - 7 pm.

· Jr. High Youth Group.  JELLO NIGHT!  Friday Oct, 21st.  6:30-8:30 for grades 6-8.  Fun & games with Jello, bring a friend and a toonie!  

· Starting Block.  For all youth grade 7 & up every Wednesday night 6:30 to 8:00pm   @ the Lavington Church.  Learn more about God through Bible study, learn leadership by helping us plan some wacky events, make solid friendships, and eat some good food together!
